Lesson 3 of 13 · 5 min
Zen Studio Live basics
Goal: Open Zen Studio Live, see your Zen, and find the three things you will use: the Compiler tab, the memory slots and Play.
Zen Studio Live is the browser app that puts scripts on the Zen. You will use exactly three parts of it in this course. Ignore everything else for now.
Steps
Open Zen Studio Live in Chrome
Chrome is the recommended browser. The current version is 1.0.8. Keep the Zen connected through PROG. The link to launch Zen Studio Live is on guide.cronuszen.com.
Find the Compiler tab
This is where a
.gpcscript file goes. You drag the file in and press Compile. Lesson 4 does this for real.Find the memory slots
The Zen holds 8 memory slots. A compiled script is dragged into one of them. The slot number is what you pick with the Zen's button later, at the console.
Find Play
Play is the flash icon. It writes the slots to the Zen and loads the script. After Play, the Zen's OLED shows the script name.
| Control | What it does | Lesson |
|---|---|---|
| Compiler tab | Drag a .gpc in, press Compile | 4 |
| Memory slots (8) | Drag the compiled script into one slot | 5 |
| Play (flash icon) | Loads the slot onto the Zen | 5 |
Check: how you know it worked
