Troubleshooting
When a lesson’s check fails
Each item leads with the answer, then the things to try in order, then the lessons to re-read. Hardware faults beyond what the lessons cover belong to guide.cronuszen.com; questions about your own yew2K build belong in yew.gg/discord.
The OLED shows the Gearhead logo
No script is loaded. The OLED shows the script name when one is running.
- 1.Press the Zen's button to select the memory slot that holds your compiled script.
- 2.If no slot has it: reconnect PROG to the PC, open Zen Studio Live, drag the compiled script into a slot and press Play (flash icon).
- 3.If Play was never pressed after compiling, the slot is empty. Compile → slot → Play, in that order.

Controller not detected in A1
The controller has to be in the front A1 port. Nothing else goes there, and it goes nowhere else.
- 1.Move the controller cable to the front port. The two rear ports are CONSOLE (to the console) and PROG (to the programming PC).
- 2.Reseat the cable at both ends and test an input on the console dashboard.
- 3.Wireless pairing, supported controllers and any authentication-controller requirement for your console are hardware topics covered at guide.cronuszen.com, not in this course.

Shots are not timing / auto-green 'isn't working'
Check Shot Timing and Shot Meter first. They are the #1 reason.
- 1.Shot Timing must be Shots and Layups. With anything else the script cannot time shots.
- 2.Shot Meter must be Off. Meter on narrows the green window.
- 3.Fire Auto-Green correctly: stand still, right stick centred, click R3 (press, don't flick). If SQ Remap is set to R3, the click is L3.
- 4.Test in online MyCourt. Offline MyCourt timing differs from online.
- 5.Apply the rule: early → raise the value; late → lower the value. Hold Cross/A + Up/Down on the Auto-Green page.
- 6.If values look sensible and you still brick, the jumpshot is almost always the problem. Fast, straight releases (Oscar Robertson, Steph Curry, Damian Lillard bases; speed max) give the widest windows.
- 7.Expect ~70% with good values, not 100%.

Fades get cancelled
Insta-Stop fires a stop input before shooting off the dribble and can cancel fades.
- 1.Set Insta-Stop to Off while you run fades.
- 2.Or set it to Left-Trigger mode so it only fires while L2/LT is held.
- 3.Or hold the left stick in the fade direction through the animation.
- 4.Fade triggers: Left Fade = R2 + tap L1; Right Fade = R2 + R3. With Turbo Fades On, R2 + a fade uses the turbo hold windows instead of the standing value.

R3 click does nothing, or fires the wrong thing
Check SQ Remap. If it is set to R3, the Auto-Green click moves to L3.
- 1.Open the menu and go to SQ Remap (page 5). Options are L3 / R3 / L1 / R1; default L3.
- 2.With SQ Remap on R3, Auto-Green fires on L3. With any other remap it stays on R3.
- 3.Click the stick, don't flick it. A flick is a right-stick shot, not an Auto-Green trigger.
- 4.SQ Remap only shows a value while Button Rhythm is On; with Rhythm Off the page reads Off and is inert.

Values reset or won't change
Values save automatically when you release L2/LT. To change a ms value you must hold Cross/A.
- 1.Hold Cross/A while tapping Up/Down. Without it, Up/Down only toggles the page On/Off.
- 2.Keep L2/LT held the whole time. Releasing it closes the menu.
- 3.Values persist on the Zen and save automatically. After loading a new build from the Generator, open the menu and confirm your values before you play.

The menu is locked for a moment after boot
That is normal. yew2K shows its logo during a 1500 ms menu lockout at boot.
- 1.Wait for the OLED to switch from the yew2K logo to the script name, then open the menu.
